Up is hard, Down is easy - Jupiter Ascending threads

Caine's own choice would have been nearly anywhere but Chicago. Certainly it was large enough to hide in, and he found he blended in somewhat - minus the ears, the boots, and what lay beneath his coat. He was trying.

Yet his choice had no say in it. Her Majesty wished to be here, and so here he was.

While she spent her day working - and he was still trying to wrap his mind around WHY when she owned the planet, he came to one conclusion during it all. Arguing with her wasn't worth it. Staring silently at least meant that she didn't give him that look.

So he spent time exploring the city, the Earth culture that she was now protecting from harvest. Mostly he was working hard to avoid causing a scene. Again.

(Just about anything Jupiter Ascending. Premovie. Post. I also have Jupiter and Titus, untested but willing to toy with them. Caine just tends to be a loud pup in my head.)

Oooh Titus?

She likes Chicago, it's where here family is. And it's fun. They have a lot of fun here and it's good. A beanie covers Caine's ears and they're good.

It's so good. And she's got a rare day off and she's getting coffee so far it's been a pretty good day.

Define good. Titus wasn't finding the good in it, except maybe in the attention he had received for his sleek, body hugging fashion with a slightly royal cut. Nothing from Earth and certainly drawing looks.

Even that though wasn't making him find love for this planet that had taken half his family from him. It was loud, it was polluted and it was ripe for harvest. Not that it would ever be harvested if darling Jupiter had her way.

It would crash and burn one day, all would die for nothing, and all that Regenex would be lost.

That was distressing, to say the least. All of that lost, and all for the sake of Seraphi's reoccurrence running about this horrid city like a child.

He slipped up behind her, not seeing hide nor hair of the splices she was known to surround herself with.

"You can't drink enough of that to keep your beauty, my dear betrothed."

Oh yes, he wasn't letting that go.

Of course, the one day that she had off, would be spoiled by the reappearance of someone who'd tried to have her killed. "Drinking this isn't supposed to preserve my beauty. It's a delicate blend of caffeine and sugar delicately designed to keep me awake and happy for the rest of the day."

She turned towards him, "But none of that explains what you're doing here, Titus."

In fairness he had planned to have her killed. He never actually got around to trying it in the ways he'd had planned.

"If you need such a thing to keep you happy then rumors of genital deformity in splices must be true. Such a shame to saddle yourself with such... mistakes," he said, examining his warped reflection in a nearby window.

He lifted his gaze to her. "I'm not allowed to visit the families most divest holding? The reason both my mother, and brother, are dead? I'm not allowed to mourn in my own way?"
