Added to the list of "Things Derek didn't Tell Peter" was that he had a weird news from Beacon Hills goggle alert going just to be able to make sure he knew if something was a threat to his sister that he needed to go back to.
Peter never really asked why Derek had chosen to go to the University of Arizona when he could have the pick of the Ivy Leagues along the East Coast. But it was the closest to California he could get without actually being IN California and still be in one of the top 50 English departments in the country.
But the image of the deer in the animal report caught his attention to the point where he left class right after the bell rang and went for his car. He always kept an emergency bag in the trunk, so he started on the four hour drive back to the town he hadn't seen in over six years, and as he pulled up in front of the burnt remains of his family home, he remembered why.
But that spiral was a message, and he intended to find out who it was from, and if it meant what he thought it meant.
