Waiting as others straggled out of the locker room, she slipped inside with a smile for a kid that spent the entire time on the bench. Definitely not someone she would pick, even now, and headed to where she could hear Scott breathing.
She paused just outside the showers.
"Find a focus, Scott," she called, hearing that racing heart. "Stop thinking about all you can hear, all you can smell. Focus on one thing."
