Talks, trouble and tequila. Minus the tequila. - For Isaac
Life had turned upside down again. The last time it had brought him Isaac and Darcy. Now it had let him keep them. So long as that was the case, the rest he could work with. The house was beautiful, and familiar to Isaac, and they seemed to not be the only ones that came through whatever had happened.
Yet a change in residence didn't mean that Vex knew he and Isaac still had a talk to finish. One where, yeah, Isaac swore he loved him and his past didn't change that, but Vex had seen the look in his puppy's eyes, and he knew they needed to talk. More.
And maybe he needed to feed, but he would let them get through talking first. He needed to talk about it all with Isaac and make sure it really was okay.
So he grabbed a couple of beers out of the fridge and sought out Isaac.

So he grabbed a couple of beers out of the fridge and sought out Isaac.

Today was looking hopeful - he found an arrow sticking out of a tree, and a target set up. Which meant someone was out here, a neighbor or something. He just hit the lawn of their backyard, Shere Khan tagging at his heels, when he saw Vex coming out of the back door.
He beamed up at the other man. "Guess what? I found someone's target practice stuff -- there's people. Somewhere."

"Did someone shoot that at you? If so, I'm more than willing to hunt them down and kill them," he offered as if it was the most common answer to something like that. "So we're not just off in the middle of nowhere by ourselves? A positive answer for things like getting more beer, and food. Food is probably good," he said, though it wasn't entirely a joke.
One he wanted to take care of the others. Two he knew he had to consider his own feeding needs, especially if they were the only ones around for a while.

He stepped back, arching up an eyebrow. "Beer?"
no subject
"Yeah well, trees can be evil. Didn't you ever watch the Wizard of Oz?"
He smirked though, shrugging. "They were in the fridge and figured I could use one, and maybe you could too. Promise, I'm not drinking myself into a stupor. Not yet." Not like he had been that day he'd talked to Isaac about the truth. Not like that.
no subject
"Many times. But I know you'd protect me."
He nodded his head slowly, before he leaned in to kiss Vex's forehead. "Good. We all need to stay sharp around here. Especially when we don't know what we're dealing with yet."
no subject
That gentle kiss made him roll his eyes, even if he was grinning. "Yeah well... We also have to face things about what we do know we're facing," he admitted. "Like there only being us, and just those of us here like you and Darcy and certain things that I need," he pointed out.
no subject
He tilted his head a little, his lips pressing together. "Oh that's true - you do need to get fed." He He looked a ittle more thoughtful at that. "All right, who are you feeding off of first, me or Darcy?"
no subject
"No." He shook his head. "I don't want to that be something with us. I mean..." He sighed, gnawing at his lip. Damn but emotions were still hard. "I don't use against people for good. It's humiliation, and pain and my job and while I don't have to do that... Dammit, if I want to use my hands on you, I don't want it to be to make you obey me."
And not once thinking about the ways he might use it for them both, to try and make things better in his own mind and between them. Just knowing how he had used his mesmer hand for centuries.

It was that intimacy that allowed him to curl his fingers around Vex's hips, a faint frown working over his face. "...okay, so using the Mesmer, it's basically bad control, where you make them ... your puppet, and that's the only way is for you to feed?"
no subject
"When I was younger, I used it for other things. Pranks and stuff like that. It's been hundreds of years Isaac since I've used it for anything but work. I don't have to hurt them to feed. I just have to use the mesmer hand. I don't know.."
He paused, frowning. "I don't even know if I have the siren's voice still," he admitted. "I didn't have it before, and maybe it's gone with Teleios. If I could feed with that, there's ways... and maybe ways with the hand, but it's still using you, and Darcy."
no subject
"All right ... well, I'm open to ideas. What can we do to help you, to make sure you don't starve?" He asked finally, his young face solemn. "I don't want you killing yourself to protect us."
no subject
Curling in against him, one hand curled to the back of his neck, watching him with dark eyes as if not sure how to deal with this. Not just his desires, but in knowing he was trying to protect others. It was something he wasn't comfortable with because he had done it so infrequently in his lifetime. All of it.
"Trust me, I don't know what to think about being willing to die for you either," he admitted. "It's weird. I don't even know what to think of it. But..."
He considered it. "Technically any use is feeding. Once I made The Morrigan dance, humiliating her in front of another. It fed me. It would still be making you and Darcy do things though." Which bothered him, and he still wasn't sure why it bothered him, not understanding the mechanics of loving others like that.
no subject
"Well you know we'd die for you ...so it's kinda a circular argument here." He finally said, lifting an eyebrow dryly. It was true, though. Darcy and he would give up control if it kept Vex from starving.
He lifted his other hand, putting it on Vex's neck. "But I get it. So much of my life - of Darcy's life ... was at the whim of other people. You don't want to put us there, you don't want to use us ...because we're different. But Sexy, we gotta figure out something."
He looked out to the woods. "Maybe we should start going out further. How much time do I have?"
no subject
"I know you would, and you're not allowed to. At all. No dying, especially not for me," he said, voice hard and meaning it.
"I know the things you've dealt with, some of them," he admitted. "But I hate you having to do things for me because I make you. Not with what you've been through. We need to try and the whistle. Then at least I would know I was making you feel good. If you say you want it, then..."
He nodded. Consent was hard for him, things he hadn't really dealt with until now.
"We could explore. Definitely. We really should, for all our sakes. As for time, I fed just before whatever got us kicked out, and so I have another couple of weeks until it's bad. I should do it regularly though."
Otherwise he was tempted to overeat.
no subject
"All right, all right. But that goes for you too." Isaac whispered, his voice going slightly haunted. "No dying in front of me."
He tilted his head a little, before he nodded his head slightly. "...yeah, okay, why don't we try the whistle first, then? Because, you know, I choose to have you whistle at me." His lips twitched up.
"All right, so we got two plans. Whistle and explore." He tilted his head a little.
no subject
"Promise. If I die, it won't be in front of you," he admitted, meaning it. He'd find a way for it to happen when Isaac wasn't there.
"Yeah, I am betting you love that," he said, grinning. He took a breath and then, a moment, he started to whistle. It was still there. He still had the siren's voice. Whistling in a voice that was supernatural and not human. Not in the least.
And it was meant to make him feel good. Not even sexual, but relaxed and content and happy.
no subject
"Thank you." He said simply, before kissed the man again.
He laughed quietly, before he let it go, his breath tight as the whistle caused his throat to tighten and his body to thrum ... then relax. Like a line of tension left him one breath. "....yeah, okay. That works."
no subject
The sounds rose and dropped, a lyrical whistle meant to make him feel happy, to feel good. It was something he could give to Isaac, something he wanted to give to him.
It broke off suddenly. "I can taste it. Not as strong as the hand," he admitted. "But I can taste it. I could taste you then. How did it feel?"
no subject
"...Yeah. I can feel it too." He smiled, his lips curving up. "Takes all the pain away, how did you do that?"
no subject
"Now they're just like me. Staying in the public eye, blending in with humans, and doing what we need. It can hurt, and heal, and it can kill," he admitted. "I asked for it though to help and protect since I'm used to using my hands to hurt others. At least when I use the mesmer," he added, since he often used his hands for a lot to bring pleasure to those he cared about.
no subject
A crooked smile. "Especially if it helps both of us."
no subject
"I like how you taste on the air," he admitted, leaning in, kissing him tenderly. "It's lighter than when I use my hands but it's there," he admitted. "I can still taste it, feel it in my system."
no subject
He tipped his head a little, into that kiss, before he whispered. "Then we are doing well with that?"
no subject
"We can, yeah. It could work. Maybe just more often, but not hurting you. You're sure it's okay?" He was learning consent, dammit. Had been from Kenzi and Bo, and then Isaac. He was trying hard to get it right.
no subject
"Okay ... and yeah, it's fine. I didn't feel bad at all, didn't feel like I was losing control of myself or anything." He tilted his head. "Which means sirens are reaaaaaally good at what they do, huh?"
no subject
"Yeah, bastard kept trying to bust my eardrums," he admitted, rolling his eyes. Though he couldn't entirely deny that he likely deserved it. He had done a lot of things.
no subject
Yes, he's teasing, and yes, he shakes his head at Vex's comment. "Of course he did. What did you do to him?"
no subject
"It wasn't to him," he admitted, shrugging. "Not directly. He was a light fae working for the cops to watch over the fae. Then he was the Ash. Bastard was probably the best one they'd ever had."
no subject
He tilted his head slightly, and thoughtfully. "...So he was actually a Good Ash? I thought those didn't exist."
no subject
"They didn't to him, and the others were already trying to take him out," he admitted. "Which is why. They want a war. They want to keep light against dark, and fae against humans."
