WELCOME TO BEACON HILLS

Beacon Hills is a small town in the Northern part of California. It was once a thriving town that has fallen into disrepair. It is also, currently, the scene of a supernatural battle that has only just begun.

This is an AU Beacon Hills set during season 1 at this time. What's the same? Most things in this verse are set in Beacon Hills. All of the events up until the first episode are the same except one thing. It was Laura who was left a charred mess in the basement after trying to save her family, and Peter that took Derek from Beacon Hills before they were found by the hunters.

Now, six years later, things are going dark in the town. Someone has been killing people, and the power of the family is in turmoil.

Laura is pretty much where Peter was. Angry. Violent. Looking to take revenge on those that took her life from her. What do we already know about this verse?

* Peter and Derek were alive when Laura woke up
* Kate still seduced Derek to get the information about the pack
* Laura, in seeking to restart her pack, has bitten both Scott... and Stiles
* Laura is the Hale alpha


Is Peter alive or dead? We don't know. Maybe Laura has been alpha this whole time, alive but unable to act on it. Is Cora in South America? Maybe. This is pretty open right now. If interested, let me know.

And so much for the info that he got off that website for how to make werewolves not smell you coming. His abstinence and rubbing the weird grass over him have failed him.

He'll have to write a nasty note to the webmaster about their clearly erroneous data. Other people might try it and fail too, clearly it's a public service he'll be doing.

"Okay, so that's something else off the checklist. What else can you do?"

[avenges]

"I don't think you're ready for those answers. Besides, all you've done is cover up your scent. I still know you, Stiles. It's all over Scott, for one," she pointed out, moving to lean against the trunk of the car. She crooked a finger at him.

"Now, come out here and talk to me," she said, folding her arms over her chest. "You and I need to have a talk."

[rozpetac]

"I'm not ready for those answers but we need to have a talk? What kind of talk? My dad already warned me about taking candy from strangers and the whole bad touch kind of thing, so if i'm not ready to hear about what else you can do, what's left to talk about? Unless you want to know everything about how the Mets are a travesty and a stain upon their ancestors, the Angels aren't much better and really fuck the Dodgers and their record?"

He might also be mimicking her tough girl stance in the shadows where he's lurking.

She ignored him, all he was saying. Yet her smile grew, head canting slightly and looking at him as if he wasn't hiding in the shadows. "I have to tell you, Stiles. I thought you'd come to me first," she admitted. "I mean, it's not fair, is it? That I chose Scott before you?"

Not instead of but before.

"He's slower and I was distracted by my dad." So that's not really going to hold much weight. "And maybe I just want to find out more about how to help him? But you're not interested in giving me actual answers, so maybe I'll just go back to Google. There were still some interesting websites out there. One of them featured some interesting uses for Aconite."

And now, he's just testing the waters even more. Because that's what he does. Pokes mysteries with a stick until they unfold or attempt to bite him.

"He was also less likely to taste like vinegar," she noted, smirking at him though, amused by that answer if the look on her face was any indication.

"Have you thought to ask? I try and not dump too much on him, and I'm trying to help him with what he has, and what he's become. You could ask but instead you act like this."

She moved suddenly, standing before him. "Do not threaten the woman that is alpha over your best friend," she growled, eyes flashing red. "I would have thought you were smarter than that," she added, cooing, the carrot after the stick as it were.

"Besides, if you want answers, the best way to find out is by experiencing it yourself. Then you won't just be that information guy. You'll be strong, powerful, and able to stand beside Scott rather than be in his shadow."

Gross. First of all.

"I just did ask. And you said I couldn't handle it. And he trusts me more than you, so he'll totally ask me things that might not occur to him when he's with you. And if it's the werewolf thing? I got that one already. I'm just trying to figure which kind so that when the full moon comes, I know whether or not I have to chain him somewhere or not."

"Makes me pretty smart to get you to actually admit out loud that you're his Alpha, which means that you're the one that bit him there in the woods. That blood was your fault right? it's still an unsolved case, did you actually kill someone or just maul them a little? Are you planning to teach Scott that?"

Because his best friend being a mindless killer is not okay by either of them and there's like pacts and stuff that he and Scott swore. Granted they were more thinking about zombies rather than werewolves but still.

"I don't want it. Not if it means being a mindless killer with a blood craze on."

[avenges]

"Stiles, you're not making life any easier on any of us. You. Scott. This town. I'm offering you a chance to be everything that Lydia and the others hve denied you. Why should their attitude make them better than you when your genetics can show them that you are so much more than they ever allowed you to be. Why let them control your life, Stiles, when I can give you the gift to be what you need to be. For yourself, and for your father."

She took another step closer. "What would it be like if he didn't have to worry about you like he does now? I knew your mother, Stiles. She was a lovely, amazing woman and life was cruel to her. What if it comes for you too?" She asked it with a frown, sounding pained by that idea. "I want to help you, and you will be helping me. I want a pack again, Stiles. This town took it from me, and my family abandoned me. You could be part of that," she said, sighing with a drop of her shoulders. "I want you to be part of that."

She shrugged. "I am. I bit him, and I made him the lacrosse player he wanted to be. I made it that he didn't have to worry a woman working so hard to take care of him. I admit I should have come to him, like I am you now, but my mind..." She shook her head. "Six years listening to your family die does something to you, Stiles. You've known death like that, you have to realize what it does to you."

Her gaze lifted to him. "I killed the insurance adjuster who was paid to cover up the truth about the fires. He let a hunter seduce him, and pay him off, and he said it was electrical. He lied about the fire and bodies for money and sex. How could I defend that and let it go? Would you have let it go if someone came for your father? Do you think Scott wouldn't use what he had for Melissa?

"You wouldn't be mindless, Stiles. You would be brilliant. You would be strong. You would have everything you have now, and so much more. As Scott does. You both have the potential to be such wonderful, amazing men and good family and pack. Especially when my brother returns to us. I want that, Stiles. I want family from those that truly understand it."

She smiled though. "I should tell you though, when you say you don't want it? With those words, I hear your heart race, just a bit. Don't and Want," she said. "Just a tiny bit. You can lie to yourself, Stiles, but not to me."

Well that's also good to know. He'll have to be a much better liar from now on, he can tell. Maybe if it's something he can convince himself he actually believes, then she won't be able to hear the lie in his words. Is that how it works?

"Maybe I don't want it from you? Did you think of that? And you keep telling me I wouldn't be mindless, but if you're the alpha then I'll have to do what you say right? What if I don't want to?"

[avenges]

"I considered it. Then I thought about all you would gain, and how smart you are, and I couldn't help but wonder why you would turn this down," she admitted, folding her arms over her chest and giving him a smile.

"Yes, I would be alpha. Yes, there is a heirarchy. No I can't control you like a meat puppet without putting my hand up your ass. Do you see me doing that to Scott?"

"Literally up my ass?" Because priorities, he has them. "And all I know is that he's been a little different lately but still there's too many unanswered questions. What else changes when you bite someone? What are the dangers? If it's such a great gig, why are you asking me and not half the lacrosse team?"

Because while yes, he does want to be a superhero. He also knows that there are consequences to the whole superhero gig and part of that is the danger to the families of superheros. And that's a deal breaker. He can't have his dad getting into this. Getting hurt or killed because of this.

"Not my kinks, Stiles. Not my kinks at all," she said, giving him a look. "As for why you and not them, most of them are annoying. I didn't like that type when my uncle and brother were one of them on the basketball team and my dislike hasn't improved ovedr the years," she said, being fairly honest.

"It raises your aggression until you get control. It also lends you a lot of things, like speed and strength, heightened senses. Beyond the bite itself and healing from it, there are very few dangers that don't come from hunters like those that killed my family. You've been here a while, haven't you? You remember the fire?"

She remembered his dad from those days, so he might remember some of it.

"It makes you stronger, faster. It lets you sense those around you, hear lies, know what is going on and gives you the means to stop it."

He feels proud of that look just a tiny bit. It makes him feel like he's accomplished something. And hell, her critique of the boys on the lacrosse team is fair enough, really the only decent guy on there is Danny and he's good but he's not drawing any attention to one of the only truly visible out and proud guys at Beacon High. That would not be buddies at all (and wow he needs to stop mainlining Due South before bed, really he does).

So he gets that, the aggression and the enhanced everything which explains a lot about Scotty and his behavior recently. Gives him some idea about how to handle him. Maybe even teach him a little bit more control.

"Your fire? I mean the Hale House Fire, yeah, I remember it." It was a couple of years after his mom died and one of the things that really kind of helped his dad be his dad again. "So you're telling me that hunters did that? To your family?"

And that makes a little more suspicious of why she's back in town.

She wants him to feel pride. It helped people come along to what he wanted, and it wasn't as if she was lying about her desires for wanting him. He was a much different man than many in this town, so much like the sides of Peter that she would love to have back, but having the older man in the pack, she didn't think it would do much to help her place as Alpha.

"Yes, the Hale fire. I've found links to those that covered up the truth. I can tell you having been there, they locked the doors, barred us in, and burned the place up. Everyone alive, human children, nearly the entire pack. They stood outside and listened as we begged for our lives, Stiles. They laughed as we died."

[rozpetac]

He shook his head, "Give me the information, let me give it to my dad, have him reopen the case. We can do it the legal way, then." And if they get off, then Stiles will arrange for non traceable poisons, Laura. Do it the smart way.

Because he's already thinking of himself as part of the pack. Already thinking of himself as one of them.

[avenges]

"What information? That I know a hunter burned out a family of werewolves, and stood there and laughed? That the bus driver, former insurance adjuster, hid it? How about the part where I know it, but I can't give him any proof he'll take to court? No. They killed my family. These are my lands. I will make it safe for my pack, Stiles. For you and Scott and for everything that should have been here," he said, meaning it. More emotions than she'd shown to anyone yet.

"I can't just pretend, Stiles. I can't let them let her go. I ... I spent six years listening to them scream, Stiles. I still hear them. Every moment of every day. What would you do in my place?"

[rozpetac]

"There's got to be a paper trail somewhere, we can find it." Or make it, once they know for certain who is involved. "And all I'm saying is that let me help you so that you don't wind up in prison or dead, Laura. Scotty can't hack it without you I'm guessing and I don't want him dead. And you dead, doesn't help us either."

[avenges]

"Stiles. If you want to be here to help me and Scott, then you need to be with us," she said, meaning it. "Stiles, you're right about one thing. We need you."

And she meant it.

"You're the one that will be there at my side. Scott is a good man. You'll make an amazing werewolf."

[rozpetac]

"And there's no other option is there? Be with you as a werewolf or not be with you as a human." Stiles said a little wearily.

"But that's not a guarantee. You don't know for certain it will take."

[avenges]

"As a human there's the danger of you being killed easier. In combat you would be a liability because Scott and I both would be worrying about your life, Stiles. You would be bonded to us both as pack. It would make it easier for you to protect your father as well. You would have advantages you just can not have as a human."

She shook her head. "No, there's not, but I believe you are meant for this."

[rozpetac]

"Fair enough. Does it have to be here?" Because this is probably the best way to actually help Scott and he's got to do that. Since technically it's still his fault that Scotty got bit in the first place.

But he doesn't want to get bit here in the parking garage.

[avenges]

She smiled then, shaking her head. "Oh course not. You should be comfortable. I am trying to do this right this time," she admitted. "Your place or mine?"

She offered her hand to him. "Shall we?"
